UPVC Flush Mechanically jointed windows

The core difference is that standard uPVC windows sit on top of the frame with a stepped profile, while flush‑welded uPVC windows sit inside the frame so the sash and outer frame are perfectly level, giving a sleeker, more timber‑like look.

🪟 What standard uPVC windows are
Standard uPVC windows use a lipped design, where the opening sash slightly overlaps the outer frame. This creates a small step that’s visible from the outside.

  • Appearance – Slightly chunkier, more traditional uPVC look with a visible lip.
  • Cost – More budget‑friendly because the design and fabrication are simpler.
  • Performance – Very good insulation and security; the stepped design helps with weatherproofing.
  • Best for – Modern homes, extensions, rental properties, and customers prioritising value.
